— WHAT IS WEIGHT BOX CALIBRATION —
Think of a quality lab that relies on a weight box for daily measurements. If it has drifted even slightly from its true value, every reading becomes unreliable — leading to defective products, failed audits, or safety risks. Regular calibration is the only way to confirm your instrument is telling the truth.
Weight Box calibration means comparing its readings against a NABL-traceable certified reference standard at multiple test points, recording the deviations, adjusting where possible, and issuing an NABL certificate — accepted by ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and all quality auditors.
Compare readings against a NABL-traceable reference standard across the full measurement range.
Adjust or document deviations so your instrument reads within accepted tolerance.
Issue a NABL-accredited certificate (CC-2480) with full traceability documentation.
— INSTRUMENTS COVERED —
E2 / F1 / F2 / M1 / M2 · 1 mg – 50 kg · OIML R 111 · NABL CC-2480
Class E1 and E2 weight boxes for highest-accuracy reference calibration.
Class F1 and F2 weight box sets for precision balance calibration.
Class M1, M2, and M3 weight boxes for industrial weighing calibration.
OIML-certified calibration weight boxes for legal-for-trade and reference use.
Analytical weight boxes covering 1 mg to 200 g range for laboratory use.
Milligram weight boxes for micro and semi-micro balance calibration.
— OUR PROCESS —
Weight box received. Each weight cleaned with lint-free cloth and handled with tweezers. Weights acclimatised at 20 ± 1°C for 30 minutes before measurement.
Each weight inspected for surface damage, corrosion, and identification markings. Adjusted cavity verified for F1/E2 class weights.
Each weight compared against OIML reference masses of one class higher using NABL-calibrated analytical or semi-micro balance. At least 5 readings per weight.
Measured mass compared to nominal value. Error and standard deviation calculated. Checked against OIML R 111 maximum permissible error for the stated class.
Expanded uncertainty (k=2) calculated per GUM for each weight in the set. Reference standard uncertainty, repeatability, and resolution all included.
NABL CC-2480 certificate listing nominal value, measured mass, error, uncertainty (k=2), and OIML R 111 class for each weight in the set.

Prism holds NABL CC-2480 under ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Weight box certificates are accepted by pharma GMP (21 CFR Part 211), ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and all process industry QMS bodies.
— NON-NABL CALIBRATION —
For routine maintenance, bulk calibration, or internal QC checks where a full NABL certificate is not mandatory — Prism offers cost-effective non-NABL calibration using the same NABL-traceable reference standards and trained engineers.
All non-NABL work uses NABL-certified reference standards — readings are still reliable and defensible.
Without full NABL documentation, instruments return faster — ideal for urgent production schedules.
Non-NABL calibration costs less — practical for large batches or routine periodic checks.
Available at your facility or at our Vatva lab — same quality, more flexibility.
